Russian troops shelled the city of Balaklia, Kharkiv region, on Monday, killing at least one person and leaving eight others wounded.

Kharkiv region governor Oleh Syniehubov said this in a post on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

"The Russian occupiers struck Balakliia. As of now, we know of one dead man and eight wounded," he wrote.

All concerned services are working at the scene, Syniehubov added.

Syniehubov said earlier that the Kharkiv regional military administration was considering the issue of a possible forced evacuation from the border settlements of the region, as the number of shelling attacks there has increased.
