Air defense forces destroy 67 air targets overnight - Zaluzhnyi

On the night of May 29, during another Russian attack, the Ukrainian Air Force destroyed 37 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles, 29 Shahed drones and 1 tactical reconnaissance UAV.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhnyi wrote this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

"Last night, the Russian occupiers attacked military facilities and critical infrastructure of Ukraine with cruise missiles and attack drones," Zaluzhnyi said.

He informed that the enemy launched up to 40 Kh-101/Kh-555 air-launched cruise missiles from nine Tu-95MS strategic aircraft from the Caspian Sea.

From the northern and southern directions, the Russians attacked with Iranian Shahed-136/131 UAVs. A total of 35 attack drones.

According to Zaluzhnyi, air defense was operating in the areas of responsibility of all air commands of the Air Force: "Center", "East", "South" and "West".

"The forces and means of the air commands in cooperation with the air defense of other components of the Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed 67 air targets: 37 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles; 29 Shahed-136/131 strike UAVs; 1 reconnaissance UAV of the operational and tactical level," the Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief said.

As reported by Ukrinform, on the night of May 29, Kyiv was attacked by UAVs and Kh-101/555 missiles, but air defense forces destroyed more than 40 air targets without hitting them.
