Ukrainian Prosecutor General Andrii Kostin and United States Senator Lindsey Graham have discussed systemic cooperation aimed at countering the criminal activities of Russia’s Private Military Company (PMC) Wagner, both in Ukraine and in other states.

The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Kostin thanked the American side for their unwavering support for Ukraine and its struggle for justice and holding the aggressor state accountable.

In the course of the meeting, the parties also considered the possibility of directing USD 5.4 million confiscated from a Russian oligarch to the rehabilitation of Ukrainian defenders.

“We must bring to justice those who have organized and is financing this war and make them pay for all the damage and all the suffering they have caused,” Kostin stressed.

A reminder that, on February 2, 2023, a federal district judge in New York ruled that prosecutors might seize USD 5.4 million belonging to Russian oligarch Konstantin Malofeyev, paving the way for the funds to be used for Ukraine’s reconstruction.
