Following Russia’s air strike on the Donetsk region’s Avdiivka, about five people are likely to have been trapped under the rubble of a 9-storey apartment block.

The relevant statement was made by Avdiivka City Military Administration Head Vitalii Barabash on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Another Russian missile has smashed a residential building in Avdiivka. Nine floors – to the foundation. Two people have been reported under the rubble, but up to five persons are likely to have been trapped there. Two civilians were injured. A woman is in critical condition,” Barabash wrote.

In his words, there is no place to hide from Russian missiles and aerial bombs in Avdiivka. Neither the strong walls of houses nor bomb shelters can save people. Evacuation is the only solution, Barabash stressed.

A reminder that Donetsk Regional Military Administration Head Pavlo Kyrylenko stated earlier that at least two civilians had been injured in Russia’s air and missile strike on the Donetsk region’s Avdiivka on May 23, 2023.
