Ground Forces commander visits Ukrainian fighters in Bakhmut area

Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrskyi, the commander of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, has said that Bakhmut stands thanks to the dedication and professionalism of the Ukrainian military.

According to Ukrinform, Syrskyi reported this on Telegram.

"We continue to conduct a defensive operation and deter the enemy in the east. I came to our soldiers who are performing combat missions in the Bakhmut area. Together with the commanders, we made a number of necessary decisions aimed at ensuring effective defense and inflicting maximum losses on the enemy," Syrskyi said.

He also talked to the defenders of the eastern front.

"People should always be in the center of attention, from a soldier to a brigade commander. It is thanks to their dedication and professionalism that Bakhmut is holding on. Our commanders and soldiers are the heroes of our time, who completely destroy the plans of the enemy every day," Syrskyi said.

Syrskyi said earlier that in some areas in Bakhmut, Ukraine's defense forces had launched a counterattack, forcing the Russian invaders to leave their positions.
