Ukraine’s Air Force launches six strikes on enemy positions, hits missile system

Over the past day, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched six strikes on the areas of concentration of personnel and military equipment of the Russian invaders and an anti-aircraft missile system. Two enemy reconnaissance UAVs were also shot down.

This is stated in the report by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06:00, April 26, published on Facebook.

"Over the past day, the enemy launched three missile strikes, of which two S-300 missiles were fired at the center of the peaceful town of Kupyansk, Kharkiv region. Civilians were killed and injured, the building of a local history museum was destroyed, next to which there is no military objects, and other civilian infrastructure was damaged. Also, the enemy launched 13 airstrikes and 49 MLRS attacks on the positions of our troops and the critical infrastructure of populated settlements," the report reads.

The enemy focuses its main efforts on conducting offensive operations in Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Marinka directions. Over the past day, the Ukrainian troops repelled 39 attacks on the specified areas of the front. The fiercest battles continue for Bakhmut and Maryinka.

In Volyn and Polissia directions, the operational situation has not changed significantly. There were no signs of the formation of offensive groups.

The enemy maintains its military presence in Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna directions in the Bryansk, Kursk and Belgorod regions bordering Ukraine. Over the past day, the invaders fired artillery and mortars at Leonivka in Chernihiv region; Seredyna-Buda, Koreniok, Stukalivka, Iskryskivshchyna, Novoivanivka, Volfyne, Pavlivka, Kostiantynivka, Basivka in Sumy region; Udy, Veterynarne, Zelene, Neskuchne, Strilecha, Ohirtseve, Hatyshche, Ambarne in Kharkiv region.

In Kupyansk direction, Topoli, Kamyanka, Krasne Pershe, Fyholivka, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Lyman Pershyi, Kupyansk, and Kyslivka in Kharkiv region came under enemy artillery and mortar fire.

The enemy did not conduct offensive operations in Lyman direction. Novoselivske, Nevske, Dibrova, Bilohorivka in Luhansk region; Torske, Yampil, Siversk, Verkhniokamyanske, Spirne, and Pereyizne in Donetsk region were hit with artillery.

In Bakhmut direction, the enemy continues to conduct to go on the offensive. Heavy fighting continues for the city of Bakhmut. In addition, over the past day, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive operations near the settlements of Bohdanivka, Khromove, Klishchiivka. Vasiukivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Markove, Hryhorivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Chasiv Yar, Bila Hora, Pivnichne, and New York in Donetsk region came under enemy fire.

In Avdiivka direction, the enemy carried out offensive operations near Sieverne and Pervomaiske settlements in Donetsk region but had no success. The invaders shelled the settlements near the contact line, in particular, Novobakhmutivka, Novokalynove, Avdiivka, Lastochkine, Stepove, Tonenke, Vodiane, Netaylove, Pervomaiske, Karlivka, and Nevelske in Donetsk region.

In Maryinka direction, the Ukrainian defenders repelled numerous enemy attacks in the area of Maryinka settlement. Heorhiivka, Maryinka, Pobieda, Novomykhailivka, and Paraskoviivka in Donetsk region came under enemy fire.

In Shakhtarsk direction, the enemy did not conduct offensive operations. The settlements of Vuhledar, Yehorivka, Pavlivka, Prechystivka, Novoukrayinka, Zolota Nyva, Novomayorske, Shakhtarske, Neskuchne, and Velyka Novosilka in Donetsk region were struck.

The enemy continues to hold defense in Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions. Over the past day, the invaders shelled more than 40 settlements, including Malynivka, Mala Tokmachka, Novoandriivka, Mali Shcherbaky, Plavni in Zaporizhzhia region; Kozatske, Odradokamyanka, Olhivka, Lvove, Kizomys, Kherson in Kherson region. More than 10 houses were damaged, two houses, a church, and other civilian infrastructure objects were destroyed as the Russians dropped two guided air bombs on Kizomys.
