Throughout the past week alone, Ukraine’s defense forces have planted several dozen more anti-tank minefields and erected special barriers in the Northern Operational Zone, also digging nearly 3,000 meters of trenches and 4,500 meters of anti-tank ditches.

This was announced by Lieutenant-General Serhiy Naiev, Commander of Ukraine’s Joint Forces, Ukrinform reports.

According to the commander, the situation in the Northern Operational Zone remains under Ukraine’s control as unit and group commanders – from sergeant to general – responsibly perform all tasks assigned.

"The situation allows us not only to hone our combat skills on training grounds, but also to constantly strengthen our defenses. In the past week alone, several dozen anti-tank minefields and barriers were installed using more than 6,500 mines. About 3,000 meters of trenches and 4,500 meters of anti-tank ditches were dug along the state border. Several dozen covered gaps, shelters, and firing positions for personnel, as well as firing positions for our heavy wepons, have been set up," Naiev said.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, General Naiev stated that Ukraine had strengthened all types of intelligence work in order to prevent spot signs of any potential Russian offensive from the north.
