Ukraine's Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov has shown the French-made AMX-10 armored fighting vehicles, which the Ukrainian marines now have in service.

Reznikov reported this on Twitter and published a corresponding video, according to Ukrinform.

"Ukrainian Marines welcome their new French-made cavalry, the AMX-10s! We took it for a spin together with our warriors, and we agreed to call the AMX-10 the 'sniper rifle on the fast wheels.' Thank you to my colleague Sebastien Lecornu and to [President] Emmanuel Macron with whom I had a chance to meet and to discuss our priorities and needs. And of course, thank you to all people of France for your strong support!" Reznikov said.

According to him, these fast modern machines with powerful guns will help Ukraine regain its territory.

"This is what Liberty, Equality, and Brotherhood look like," the Ukrainian minister added.

In early January, Macron announced France's decision to provide Ukraine with the first Western tanks – the AMX-10 RC infantry fighting vehicles designed for reconnaissance purposes. Due to their characteristics, they are also known as "wheeled tanks."

In mid-January, Lecornu pledged to deliver the armored vehicles to Ukraine within two months. The AMX-10 RC can also be described as a wheeled tank destroyer or even a light tank. Instead, the Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe defines the AMX-10RC as a "heavy armament combat vehicle."
