US, Ukraine defense ministers discuss current situation at front

The U.S. Department of Defense reported that Pentagon Chief Lloyd Austin and Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov in a phone call on Monday discussed the current situation in the security sector.

The relevant statement was made by Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh at a briefing on Monday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Singh also emphasized that Austin is looking forward to this week’s Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting.

In addition, she said that the U.S. and British defense ministers would meet at the Pentagon on Monday to discuss the strengthening of bilateral relations in the defense sector, as well as "joint current efforts to support Ukraine."

As reported by Ukrinform, the 11th Ramstein format meeting of defense ministers and senior military officials from nearly 50 countries is scheduled for April 21.
