School catches fire after shelling in Mykolaiv region

A school in Mykolaiv region caught fire as a result of Russian shelling.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Mykolaiv region said this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

"On April 16 and on the night of April 17, units of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Mykolaiv region were engaged three times to eliminate fires. Thus, at 10:19 a.m., a message was received that after a night shelling of Snihurivka territorial community, an unused school building caught fire in Vasylivka village due to the hit of ammunition and its fragments," a report says.

It is noted that firefighters from the 24th state fire and rescue unit were sent to the scene, and they extinguished a fire.

As reported, on Sunday, April 16, Russian troops shelled Snihurivka community in Mykolaiv region, killing two teenagers born in 2005.
