Order to start counteroffensive to be “last minute call” - NSDC Secretary
The Headquarters of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will make the decision to launch a counteroffensive at the last minute.
This was stated by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Oleksiy Danilov, who spoke with the Tagesschau news program on Germany’s ARD, Ukrinform reports.
"If someone thinks that we have only one option, this isn’t true. Even three options are not enough," Danilov said.
According to the top security official, Ukraine is in constant contact with its key allies, such as the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, and Poland, but "data on the conduct of certain operations, the number of units involved, and which area it will cover – this information is top secret."
He called out CNN’s claims that Ukraine had allegedly already amended some of its military plans due to the leaked Pentagon classified papers.
"I can say that the number of people who are aware of our plans on our territory is extremely limited. And I don't think the source who spoke to CNN had anything to do with it," Danilov said.
NSDC Secretary is "not impressed" by the leak of a mass of classified documents.
"You can find this in publicly available sources. As for the rest of the information - if it was really classified - the agencies of the United States and United Kingdom will know exactly where this comes from, and why it emerged now," he said.
Under any circumstances, Danilov believes that the special services should be "more vigilant."
As Ukrinform reported earlier, on Monday, the President’s Office advisor, Mykhailo Podolyak, said that the Pentagon’s secret documents that appeared in the public domain did not disclose any data on the counteroffensive planned by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
