Russian missile attack: Kinzhal hypersonic missile penetrates Kyiv air defense

The Russian forces army hit Kyiv with a Kinzhal-type aeroballistic hypersonic missile, according to preliminary reports.

That’s according to the Kyiv City Military Administration, Ukrinform reports.

"This night, the enemy launched another massive air strike on Ukraine. The air raid alert in the capital lasted for almost seven hours. Over this time, the ruscists have released almost all types of their air weapons - from Shahed kamikaze drones to almost all types of cruise missiles," noted the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Serhiy Popko.

According to the official, "thanks to the efforts of our anti-aircraft defense, cruise missiles and UAVs didn’t hit the capital. Unfortunately, a Kinzhal-type aeroballistic missile (as per tentative reports) hit an infrastructure facility. All services are working at the scene. The liquidation of the consequences is underway."

Partial emergency power outages are being applied in the capital. In the Sviatoshynskyi district, two people were injured by missile debris. They are being provided with medical assistance. The debris also damaged a number of cars. The information is being clarified, Popko noted.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, overnight Thursday, an air raid alert was announced across Ukraine. Several explosions rang out in Kyiv.
