Russian invaders lower activity near Donetsk region’s Vuhledar

Over the past four days, Russian troops have become less active in the Vuhledar direction. This is due both to the weather conditions that prevent the occupiers from driving vehicles and the fact that they are massively refusing to conduct offensive actions.

The relevant statement was made by Head of the Joint Press Center of the Defense Forces in the Tavrian direction Oleksii Dmytrashkivskyi during a nationwide telethon, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“The enemy has been less active for four days in a row. Over the past day, they have managed to carry out 15 assault actions only. In comparison with the monthly data, there used to be up to 60 assault actions per day. Perhaps, this is due to the weather conditions that prevent them from using the equipment actively now, In addition, there are many reports from our intelligence officers, who are working quite successfully, about what is happening with the enemy both in the rear and on the front line – there are very frequent refusals to participate in hostilities,” Dmytrashkivskyi told.

In his words, a new military unit arrived at the front line in the Donetsk direction, i.e. Russia’s 136th Brigade that used to be created for the Chechen wars. Before March 5, 2023, they are expected to ‘accept’ the defense line and hold it.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the situation remained unchanged, according to Dmytrashkivskyi. The enemy does not conduct any active assault operations there but opens fire on the positions of Ukrainian defenders.
