More than 350,000 Russian soldiers involved in war against Ukraine - Nayev

More than 350,000 soldiers of the Russian Federation are involved in the war against Ukraine.

Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Serhiy Nayev said this in an interview with Ukrinform.

"The number of the enemy involved [in military operations] on the territory of Ukraine and its surroundings is slightly more than 350,000 people," he said.

Nayev also spoke about the numbers of Russian and Belarusian military personnel currently stationed on the territory of the Republic of Belarus.

“The armed forces of the Republic of Belarus are currently in Belarus. Their total number is 65,000, including 4,000 in the areas bordering Ukraine. In addition, the Russian sixth division with the total number of 10,500 personnel is located at the Belarusian training grounds. They conduct their exercises there," said the lieutenant general.

At the same time, the Commander of the Joint Forces assured that there is a “corresponding reaction” to any increase in the number of enemy troops in the northern direction.

“When they [Russian troops] increase several times, then we will also increase the number of our troops," Nayev emphasized.

As reported, the Defense Forces of Ukraine repelled enemy attacks in the areas of Kuzemivka and Dibrova in Luhansk region; Fedorivka, Yahidne, Berkhivka, Bakhmut and Kurdiumivka in Donetsk region.
