Wallace says UK tanks will arrive in Ukraine before summer

UK Defense Secretary Ben Wallace has said that Challenger 2 tanks are expected to arrive in Ukraine before summer.

Ukrinform reports this with reference to Sky News.

Asked in parliament when Challenger 2 tanks will arrive in Ukraine, Wallace said: “It'll be this side of the summer, or May - it'll be probably towards Easter time”.

According to him, security reasons prevented him from setting out the timetable of training for Ukrainian forces on using the tanks. But he added that it would begin with teaching them how to operate the vehicles individually before progressing to how to fight in formation.

As reported by Ukrinform, the British government approved a decision to provide Ukraine with a tank company of Challenger 2 main battle tanks – four immediately and eight a little later.
