Russia fired S-400 missiles at Kyiv from Bryansk region on Jan 14 – Ihnat

On January 14, 2023, Russia fired S-400 missiles at the city of Kyiv from the Bryansk region.

The relevant statement was made by Spokesperson for the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yurii Ihnat on Channel 5, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“We can see that S-300 and also S-400 missiles are fired at Kyiv,” Ihnat said, adding that, in his opinion, it is necessary to destroy the enemy missile systems on land, where they are stationed.

According to Ihnat, Russia has been using such missiles against the frontline area for six months now.

“Nothing has changed. It is only the direction they changed, having fired such missiles for the first time from the Bryansk region. The S-400 missiles have a range of more than 200 kilometers,” Ihnat noted.

In his words, Ukraine’s air defense systems are unable to shoot down such missiles at the moment. However, Ukraine’s Defense Forces are working to counteract such enemy actions. In particular, this refers to long-range weapons and the need to ask the West for such weapons for Ukraine to defend itself.
