Another torture chamber discovered in Mykolaiv region

Ukrainian law enforcement officers have discovered another torture chamber in the Mykolaiv region, in the village of Oleksandrivka liberated from Russian invaders.

That's according to the Prosecutor General's Office, Ukrinform reports.

"Prosecutors of the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, as part of criminal proceedings for violation of the laws and customs of war, established the location of a torture chamber of the Russian invaders in the village of Oleksandrivka (Part 1, Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)," the report reads.

According to the investigation, representatives of the Russian Federation illegally detained and brutally tortured local residents who refused to cooperate with the enemy.

During the investigation, law enforcement officers discovered and seized a number of pieces of physical evidence.

Ukraine's SBU State Security Service added that it was established that Russian invaders had tried to get information from locals about the addresses of Ukrainian patriots, in particular members of the resistance movement.

In particular, the victims were suffocated with plastic bags, beaten with heavy objects and subjected to electric shocks. Tools used to torture people were discovered during an inspection of the torture chamber.

Law enforcement officers also identified Ukrainian citizens who were illegally detained and tortured by the invaders for a month.

Investigative measures to identify Russian military personnel involved in war crimes are ongoing.
