Russian troops wound 855 children in Ukraine since invasion

Russian troops have already wounded 855 children in Ukraine since the Russian invasion began.

The Prosecutor General's Office said this in a post on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"As of the morning of December 8, 2022, more than 1,298 children were affected in Ukraine as a result of the full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation. According to the official information from juvenile prosecutors, 443 children were killed and more than 855 children were injured," the post said.

The figures are not final as work is ongoing to establish casualties in the areas of active hostilities, in temporarily occupied and liberated territories.

Most children were killed or injured in Donetsk region – 426, Kharkiv region – 267, Kyiv region – 117, Mykolaiv region – 77, Zaporizhzhia region – 77, Kherson region – 70, Chernihiv region – 68, Luhansk region – 65, Dnipropetrovsk region – 33.

On December 6, a 15-year-old girl was wounded in Russia’s shelling of the village of Kupriianivka, Zaporizhzhia region.

A total of 2,719 educational institutions have been damaged due to bombing and shelling by Russian troops, with 332 of them completely destroyed.
