Russia has injured nearly 840 children in Ukraine

A total of 437 children have been killed and more than 839 have been injured as a result of Russia’s full-scale war in Ukraine.

"As of the morning of November 22, 2022, more than 1,276 children were affected in Ukraine as a result of the full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation. According to the official information of the juvenile prosecutors, 437 children were killed and more than 839 were injured," the Prosecutor General's Office posted on Telegram.

It is noted that these numbers are not final as efforts are ongoing to establish casualties in the areas of active hostilities, in temporarily captured and liberated territories.

According to the Prosecutor General's Office, most children were affected in Donetsk region – 424, Kharkiv region – 266, Kyiv region – 117, Mykolaiv region – 77, Zaporizhzhia region – 75, Chernihiv region – 68, Luhansk region – 64, Kherson region – 64, Dnipropetrovsk region – 32.

"Due to bombing and shelling by the armed forces of the Russian Federation, 2,719 educational institutions were damaged; 332 of them were completely destroyed," reads the report.

The Office also published the data of the Children of War state portal, according to which 327 children are considered missing, 11,225 — deported, 7,646 — found, and 103 — returned.
