Enemy launches nine airstrikes, seven missile attacks on Ukraine in past day

Russian invaders continue their armed aggression against Ukraine, striking industrial facilities, attempting to hold the temporarily captured territories, continuing offensive actions in certain directions and conducting aerial reconnaissance.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in its latest operational update posted on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

In particular, units of Ukraine’s Defense Forces over the past day have repelled enemy attacks in the areas of the following settlements: Stelmakhivka in Luhansk region and Spirne, Bilohorivka, Yakovlivka, Soledar, Bakhmut, Kamianka, Opytne, Vesele, Pervomaiske, Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, and Novomykhailivka in Donetsk region.

Russian troops also shelled the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and settlements near the contact line, inflicting fire damage on critical infrastructure and houses of civilians.

“During the day, the invaders launched 9 airstrikes, 7 missile attacks and 50 MLRS attacks. Civil infrastructure objects were damaged in the settlements of Komyshuvakha and Novotroitske of Zaporizhzhia region,” the report says.

According to the General Staff, the situation in the Volyn, Polissia, Siverskyi and Slobozhanske directions has not changed significantly. No signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups have been recorded. It is noted that the Republic of Belarus continues to support the Russian armed aggression against Ukraine, providing it with access to infrastructure, territory and airspace. A threat of the enemy launching missile and air strikes from the territory and airspace of the Republic of Belarus remains.

The enemy used tanks, mortars and artillery of various types in other directions.

The General Staff also reported that "in violation of the norms of International Humanitarian Law, the laws and customs of warfare, in particular, in the settlement of Strilkove, Henichesk district, Kherson region, the Russian occupation forces set up a torture chamber on the territory of a recreation center, where Ukrainian citizens are held and tortured’.  

Over the past day, the Ukrainian aviation struck an area of concentration of enemy personnel, weapons and military equipment.

In addition, units of missile and artillery forces of Ukraine’s Defense Forces hit an enemy command post, a fuel depot, an area of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, and a warfare electronic system.

As Ukrinform reported, on November 21, Russian forces shelled the Hlukhiv, Seredyno-Buda, Khotin and Znob-Novhorodske communities of Sumy region with artillery, Grad MLRS, small arms, and 30 mortars.
