Russia destroys over 330 Ukrainian educational facilities across Ukraine - National Police

In Ukraine, as a result of the Russian armed aggression, 337 educational facilities were completely destroyed.

This was stated by the deputy chief of the National Police Juvenile Prevention Department, Yaroslav Shanko, who spoke at a briefing at the Ukraine-Ukrinform Media Center.

"Since the full-scale invasion, more than 2,700 educational facilities were damaged by Russian bombardment and shelling, of which 337 were completely destroyed," Shanko said.

As a result, the task was to ensure children's right to education, taking into account the capacities of each individual facility and air raid alert safety considerations.

Joint inspections involving police officers, emergency service and local government officials were tasked with examining schools in terms of their preparedness in terms of safety.

Shanko recalled that 431 children were killed and 835 were injured as a result of Russia's armed aggression in Ukraine.

The largest numbers of children casualties were reported in Donetsk (174) Kyiv (58), Kharkiv (78), Chernihiv (23), and Kherson (20) regions.

"These figures are not final, as active hostilities continue, and part of our country’s territory is temporarily occupied. Work is also underway to document such facts in the liberated territories," Shanko emphasized.

As reported, 103 children who were forcibly removed from Ukraine by the Russians have already been returned home.
