Key events at front taking place near Bakhmut and Avdiivka – Denysenko

Key events at the front in Ukraine are currently taking place near Bakhmut and Avdiivka in Donetsk region.

"If we talk about the situation at the front, the key events have been taking place near Bakhmut and near Avdiivka for some time now. The Russians make futile attempts to attack and do not succeed," Vadym Denysenko, adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, said during the nationwide telethon, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

According to information from the military, the Ukrainian defenders managed to destroy a Russian depot and eliminate at least a dozen Kadyrov soldiers in Kherson region over the past day.

Answering a question about how well the Ukrainian borders are currently guarded, the minister's adviser noted that not only the Border Guard Service but also the Armed Forces and Territorial Defense Forces were involved.

"Here we are actually talking about strengthening the north of Ukraine, Sumy region and Kharkiv region, but first and foremost we are talking about the Belarusian direction. The border has been strengthened and mining operations have been held all recent months so that the Russians do not have the opportunity to advance from the side of Belarus," Denysenko said.

As reported, Russian troops are not giving up their attempts to go on the offensive in Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions.
