Third Russian helicopter downed in Ukraine in one day

Ukrainian defenders in Kherson region this evening shot down a Russian Ka-52 attack helicopter, the third one since day-start.

That’s according to Ukraine’s Air Force Command, Ukrinform reports.

"On October 24, around 21:30, in the Beryslav district of Kherson region, a unit of the Kherson Anti-aircraft Missile Brigade of Air Command South shot down the third Russian Ka-52 helicopter in a day," the report reads.

The Air Force Command did not rule out that the helicopter may have had engines produced by a Ukrainian manufacturer.

As reported earlier, on October 24, the Ukrainian forces in Kherson region shot down two Russian Ka-52 attack helicopters within just half an hour.

On October 23, the Security Service of Ukraine detained Motor Sich JSC President Vyacheslav Bohuslayev and chief head of the company’s foreign economic department on charges of collaboration and aiding and abetting the aggressor state.

According to the recordings of Bohuslayev’s wiretapped calls with his Russian counterparts, the company appears to have been selling Russia the engines to military helicopters despite the ongoing Russian aggression against Ukraine.
