Nine settlements have come under enemy fire in the Donetsk region over the past day.

The relevant statement was made by the National Police of Ukraine on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

On October 23, 2022, Russian troops opened fire 20 times in the Donetsk region, having struck such settlements as Avdiivka, Bakhmut, Kurakhove, Chasiv Yar, Berdychi, Zrichne, Karlivka, Orlivka and Terny.

The enemy used the Grad multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), missiles and artillery against civilians.

A total of 16 civilian objects were damaged, including six residential houses, hospital, power distribution station and transformers, silo, café, garage and car.

Russian invaders opened fire on the city of Bakhmut five times. Casualties among civilians were reported. In addition, apartment blocks, detached houses and infrastructure facilities were damaged.

The police also documented the effects of two Russian artillery strikes launched on October 22, 2022. Civilians were killed in the Toretsk community’s villages, Velyka Novosilka and Kurdiumivka.

A reminder that, on October 23, 2022, six civilians were killed and five injured in Russia’s shelling of the Donetsk region.
