250 more civilians evacuated from Donetsk region over past day

With the help of rescuers, 250 more civilians were evacuated from dangerous areas of Donetsk region on October 20.

This was reported by the main department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Donetsk region, according to Ukrinform.

"The mandatory evacuation of the population from Donetsk region to safer regions of the country is underway... During the evacuation in the Pokrovsk district, assistance was provided to 200 people, including 20 children and 16 people with physical disabilities," the report reads.

As Ukrinform reported, the mandatory evacuation of civilians is underway in Donetsk region, which is constantly under enemy fire, has no gas supply, and has problems with water supply.

Until February 24, 1,670,000 people permanently lived in Donetsk region. Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, more than 1.2 million people have left the region. No more than 235,000 people involved in the defense and maintenance of critical infrastructure should remain in Donetsk region until the autumn-winter period.
