Russian forces kill 428 children in Ukraine

Since the beginning of the full-scale armed aggression, Russian troops have killed 428 children in Ukraine.

The press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office said this in a Telegram post, Ukrinform reports.

“As of the morning of October 19, a total of 1,243 children were affected in Ukraine as a result of Russia’s full-scale armed aggression. According to the official information provided by juvenile prosecutors, 428 children were killed and more than 815 received injuries of various degrees of severity,” the report says.

Most children were affected in Donetsk region - 415, Kharkiv region - 258, Kyiv region - 116, Mykolaiv region - 77, Chernihiv region - 68, Luhansk region - 64, Kherson region - 57, Zaporizhzhia region – 69, and Dnipropetrovsk region – 31.

According to the PGO, as prosecutors were documenting crimes committed by Russian troops on the territory of Donetsk region, the bodies of three children aged 2, 9 and 14 with signs of shrapnel and mine blast injuries were discovered at a mass burial site in the city of Lyman.

In addition, regular air strikes and shelling of civilian infrastructure and residential areas by the Russian armed forces damaged 2,663 educational institutions. Of which, 326 were completely destroyed.
