Boxer Usyk becomes United24 ambassador – Zelensky

Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk has become an ambassador of the United 24 fundraising platform for Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said this in a video address on Tuesday, October 18, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"Today, there was another expansion of our United24 platform. This state fundraising platform has already collected more than $200 million from dozens of countries. Oleksand Usyk has become a new United24 ambassador," Zelensky said.

He said he had had a conversation with the boxer and thanked him for his willingness to work for Ukraine.

According to the head of state, Usyk will focus on projects devoted to the reconstruction of Ukraine, in particular the Kyiv region.

Zelensky recalled that in addition to Usyk, United24 ambassadors include footballer Andriy Shevchenko, tennis player Elina Svitolina, rock band Imagine Dragons, creative director of Balenciaga Demna Gvasalia, singer Barbra Streisand, actors Mark Hamill and Liev Schreiber.

Zelensky last May signed a decree regarding the initiative to establish the national brand United24 in a bid to unite the efforts of international partners in support of the Ukrainian state.
