Number of children injured by Russian troops in Ukraine grows to 767

Since the beginning of the full-scale armed aggression, Russian troops have killed 391 children and injured 767 others in Ukraine.

The press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office said this in a Telegram post, Ukrinform reports.

“As of the morning of September 22, a total of 1,158 children were affected in Ukraine as a result of Russia’s full-scale armed aggression. According to the official information provided by juvenile prosecutors, 391 children were killed and more than 767 received injuries of various degrees of severity,” the report says.

It is noted that these figures are not final, as work is underway in the areas of active hostilities, in the temporarily occupied and liberated territories.

Most children were affected in Donetsk region - 399, Kharkiv region - 226, Kyiv region - 116, Mykolaiv region - 72, Chernihiv region - 68, Luhansk region - 61, Kherson region - 57, Zaporizhzhia region – 47, and Dnipropetrovsk region – 26.

According to the PGO, on September 21, an 8-year-old boy was injured in enemy shelling of the city of Kurakhove, Donetsk region.

On September 20, a 16-year-old boy was wounded in Russian strikes on the city of Kupiansk, Kharkiv region.

In addition, regular air strikes and shelling of civilian infrastructure and residential areas by the Russian armed forces damaged 2,500 educational institutions. Of which, 289 were completely destroyed.
