Russian forces shell Sumy region twice on Sunday, killing one person

Russian troops shelled the Sumy region twice on Sunday, with 52 explosions recorded.

Dmytro Zhyvytskyi, the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, said this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

After 16:30, the Russians struck the Bilopillia community. The village of Volfyne came under fire. The enemy used field artillery. A total of six explosions were recorded.

Between 17:45 and 18:00, the invaders began shelling the village with a mortar, with 46 120mm shells hitting the settlement.

According to Zhyvytskyi, a local resident born in 1940 was killed in the attack.

A local farm was also seriously damaged by enemy fire as about a hundred pigs and a horse were killed. Two grain storage facilities, a water tower, a mill, premises of a pig farm, outbuildings, three wheeled tractors and a ZIL truck were damaged.
