Russian armed aggression affects over 1,137 children in Ukraine

A total of 384 children have been killed and over 753 injured in Ukraine since the Russian invasion started.

The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“As of September 16, 2022, over 1,137 children in Ukraine were affected by the Russian armed aggression. According to the data from juvenile inspectors, a total of 384 children were killed and over 753 received injuries of various severity levels,” the report states.

These data are not final, as they are being investigated within the areas of hostilities, temporarily occupied and liberated areas.

Currently, most casualties were recorded in the Donetsk region (393), Kharkiv region (213), Kyiv region (116), Mykolaiv region (72), Chernihiv region (68), Luhansk region (61), Kherson region (55), Zaporizhzhia region (46) and Dnipropetrovsk region (26).

On September 15, 2022, two boys, 12 and 13, were injured in Russia’s shelling of the Kharkiv region’s Osynovovo.

On September 14, 2022, a 15-year-old girl was injured in Russia’s shelling of the Kharkiv region’s Kupiansk.

As a result of Russia’s daily air and artillery strikes, a total of 2,500 educational institutions were damaged across Ukraine, and 289 of them were destroyed completely.
