Russian forces injure 743 children in Ukraine

Russian troops have already killed 383 children in Ukraine and injured 743 others since the invasion started on February 24.

According to Ukrinform, the Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office said this in a Telegram post.

"As of the morning of September 9, 2022, Russia's full-scale armed aggression has affected more than 1,126 children in Ukraine. According to official information from juvenile prosecutors, 383 children have been killed and more than 743 have sustained injuries of various degrees of severity," the statement said.

These figures are not final, as work is ongoing to verify data coming from areas of active hostilities, temporarily occupied and liberated territories.

Most children were affected in Donetsk region - 389, Kharkiv region - 206, Kyiv region - 116, Mykolaiv region - 72, Chernihiv region - 68, Luhansk region - 61, Kherson region - 55, Zaporizhia region – 46, Dnipropetrovsk region - 26.

On September 6, a two-year-old boy was injured after Russian soldiers shelled the village of Andriivka, Balakliia district, Kharkiv region.

Some 2,472 educational institutions in Ukraine have been damaged by Russian bombardment and shelling, and 289 of them have been completely destroyed.
