Ukrainian aviation made more than 40 combat sorties over past day

Over the past day, Ukrainian aviation made more than 40 sorties to support the actions of ground groups. Several enemy control points and an ammunition depot were destroyed.

This is stated in the report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06:00, September 3, published on Facebook.

"The enemy continues to focus its efforts on establishing full control over the territory of Donetsk region, maintaining the captured districts of Kherson, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Mykolaiv regions. Over the past day, the enemy launched six missile and more than 20 airstrikes on military and civilian objects in the territory of our country. In particular, the localities of Poltavka, Pryshyb, Peremoha, Khreshchenivka, Osokorivka, and Bilohirya were affected," reads the report.

With the onset of dusk, the enemy intensified its activity in Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Novopavlivka, and Zaporizhzhia directions. Ukraine’s Defense Forces successfully repelled enemy attacks in the areas of Bakhmutske, Kodema, Zaytseve, Avdiivka, Marinka, and Vremivka localities.

The elimination of the enemy's manpower in Zaporizhzhia direction has been confirmed. According to the intelligence data, a column of enemy trucks, one of which was carrying the bodies of the dead, headed towards Berdiansk, where a crematorium was set up.

The situation in Volyn and Polissya directions has no significant changes.

In Siversky direction, the enemy shelled the area of Senkivka, Chernihiv region, the areas of Myropilske, Porozok, Sumy region.

In Slobozhansky direction, the situation has no significant changes. The units of the Defense Forces hold their positions and prevent the enemy from advancing deep into the territory of our country.

In Kharkiv direction, the enemy shelled the areas of Zolochiv, Velyki Prokhody, Ruska Lozova, Ruski Tyshky, Cherkaski Tyshky, Pryshyb.

In Slovyansk direction, the localities of Velyka Komyshuvakha, Karnaukhivka, Virnopillia came under enemy artillery fire. The enemy did not conduct active offensive actions. In Kramatorsk direction, the Russians shelled the areas of Raihorodok, Siversk, and Spirne.

In Bakhmut direction, the Russians fired mortars, tanks, tube and rocket artillery at the areas of Soledar, Bakhmut, and Kodema.

In Avdiivka direction, the localities of Avdiivka, Vodiane, Vesele were hit by tanks, mortars, and tube artillery.

The Russians did not conduct active offensive operations in Novopavlivka direction but shelled the areas of Marinka, Velyka Novosilka, Neskuchne, Vuhledar, and Pavlivka localities.

In Zaporizhzhia direction, the enemy shelled objects in the areas of Novosilka, Zaliznychne, Huliaypole, Chervone, Shcherbaky, and Bilohirya.

In Southern Buh direction, the enemy shelled the areas of Lozove, Andriivka, Olhyne, Zelenyi Hay, Stepova Dolyna. The defense forces successfully repelled the enemy's offensive in the areas of Vysokopillia and Potiomkyne.

During the day, Ukrainian aviation made more than 40 sorties to support the actions of ground groups, during which several enemy control points and an ammunition depot were destroyed. Bayraktar TB-2 unmanned aerial vehicle launched a missile strike that detonated the ammunition and destroyed two enemy armored vehicles with their crews.

The Ukrainian missile forces and artillery of the Ukrainian military groups continue to perform counter-battery combat tasks, disrupt the enemy's control system and logistical support. More than ten clusters of enemy manpower were hit, including three platoon strongholds. Three enemy anti-aircraft missile systems and several armored vehicles were destroyed.

"The aggressor feels the indomitable spirit of our people and the thirst for the liberation of Ukrainian lands. This is especially noticeable in the southern regions, where the occupiers are intensifying filtration measures in an attempt to weaken the patriotic sentiments of the population of the temporarily occupied areas," the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine added.
