Air defense units engage Russian missiles over Zaporizhia

As a series of explosions were heard in Zaporizhia in the late hours of Tuesday, the authorities say the Ukrainian military shot down Russian incoming missiles.

This was reported on Telegram by Acting Mayor of Zaporizhia Anatoly Kurtev, according to Ukrinform.

"The sounds of explosions that you heard today are the result of the Ukrainian Army’s Air Defense Forces working. Keep calm and believe in our soldiers!" the official wrote.

Around ten o'clock in the evening, residents of some districts of Zaporizhia heard a number of explosions. After that, the air-raid alarm went off.
