Russia's war kills 379 children in Ukraine

Russian aggressors have already killed 379 children in Ukraine since the invasion started on February 24.

According to Ukrinform, the Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office said this in a Telegram post.

"As of the morning of August 28, 2022, Russia's full-scale armed aggression has affected more than 1,112 children in Ukraine. According to official information from juvenile prosecutors, 379 children have been killed and more than 733 have sustained injuries of various degrees of severity," the statement said.

These figures are not final, as work is ongoing to verify data coming from areas of active hostilities, temporarily occupied and liberated territories.

Most children were affected in Donetsk region - 388, Kharkiv region - 202, Kyiv region - 116, Chernihiv region - 68, Mykolaiv region - 67, Luhansk region - 61, Kherson region - 55, Zaporizhia region - 44.

On August 26, two boys, aged 8 years and 1 year and 8 months, were killed by the enemy shelling of the residential infrastructure in Kamianka, Polohy district, Zaporizhia region.

Some 2,328 educational institutions were damaged due to bombing and shelling by the Russian armed forces. Some 289 of them were completely destroyed.
