Abductions continue in occupied areas of Ukraine’s Kherson region

Russian invaders continue to abduct people and apply physical violence during interrogations of those detained in the occupied part of Kherson region.

That’s according to the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Ukrinform reports.

"In Kherson, the occupiers abducted three men and a woman. Their homes were raided under the pretext of a general search for illegal weapons. The premises were looted, while the owners were taken away in an unknown direction," the statement says.

If people eventually return home after such abductions, they tell of interrogations involving physical violence, the report reads.

In particular, in the village of Starosillia of Beryslav district, Russian invaders raided the residence of a local man, 37, assaulted him, took him from his home, and forcibly held him in a basement of another house within the village, using physical violence against him while the person was in their custody.

In the village of Bilyaivka, a man, 66, was abducted from his home and held captive for more than two months, being subjected to torture, officials report.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, over the recent weeks in Kherson region, the Russian invaders have increased the scale of “filtration” measures, also increasing the rate of abductions.
