Good news to come from front lines before year-end, Defense Minister Reznikov says

Ukraine’s Minister of Defense Oleksii Reznikov said that by the end of this year, Ukrainians will hear "good news" about the situation at the front.

The comment came in an interview with Military TV as the minister was answering a question of when to expect the end of the war, Ukrinform reports.

"There will be good news before the end of the year," said the head of the defense ministry.

According to Reznikov, everything will depend on multiple factors, adding that he remains optimistic.

"I am a well-informed optimist, so I have certain positive hopes that this year there will be good, pleasant news for the entire Ukrainian society and the world. It is important for people to see victory," said Reznikov.

He added that Ukraine needs the support of other countries to win.

"If we have the will, desire, readiness and ability to defend ourselves, we need other types of resources – these are weapons, ammunition, and money to finance the state, as well as many other things. We have a chance to win faster and cheaper, from the point of view of Ukrainian losses, thanks to partner Alliance. I can definitely testify that our partners are ready to work with us not only in the short term, but also in the long term," said the Minister of Defense.

According to Reznikov, Ukraine's mistake was that the country trusted its neighbor too much, so much that “we didn't develop about our army." "We have a war of survival, and we will survive this war, breaking the spine of this Goliath," Reznikov is convinced.

As reported, the Armed Forces of Ukraine eliminated about 45,850 Russian invaders from February 24 to August 25.
