Death toll in Russia’s missile strike on Kharkiv rises to 12

In Kharkiv, the number of those killed by Russian missile strike on a three-storey residential building in Saltivskyi district on the evening of August 17 increased to twelve.

The main directorate of the State Emergency Service in Kharkiv region reported on Facebook.

"Unfortunately, as of 15:00 we have information about 12 dead people. All of them are civilians. Many of them are elderly and have disabilities. There is not a single military facility near the destroyed building," the report says.

The State Emergency Service emphasized that search and rescue operations are ongoing.

At night, the rescuers managed to save four people.
