Russians conducted assault operations in several directions, retreated with losses – General Staff
Russian invaders attempted to break the defense of Ukrainian forces in Kharkiv Region, but the Armed Forces of Ukraine pushed them back. In addition, enemy troops unsuccessfully tried to conduct assault operations in such directions as Sloviansk, Kramatorsk, Bakhmut and Avdiivka.
The relevant statement was made by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, Belarusian forces are completing tasks to strengthen the Belarusian-Ukrainian border in Brest Region and Gomel Region. The measures intended to check the combat readiness of the Belarusian armed forces are underway. They are expected to last until August 20, 2022. The threat of missile and air strikes from the territory of Belarus is persisting.
In the Siverskyi direction, Russian troops used cannon artillery to open fire near Sumy Region’s settlements, such as Basivka, Mohrytsia, Holyshivske and Budky.
In the Kharkiv direction, Russian invaders used all available weapons to open fire on such settlements as Slobozhanske, Piatykhatky, Rtyshchivka, Odnorobivka, Sosnivka, Slatyne, Svitlychne, Shevelivka, Nove, Dementiivka, Pytomnyk, Ruska Lozova, Ruski Tyshky, Korobochkyne and Protopopivka.
Russian occupiers launched air strikes near Verkhnii Saltiv, Sosnivka and Rtyshchivka.
Russian troops attempted to break through the defense of Ukrainian forces in the direction of Kozacha Lopan-Udy. The Ukrainian military fiercely met enemy units and pushed them back.
In the Sloviansk direction, Russian invaders unsuccessfully tried to dislodge Ukrainian forces with concentrated artillery fire near Hrushuvakha, Krasnopilla, Asiivka and Mazanivka. Then, with assault actions, enemy troops attempted to improve their tactical position in the direction of Dovhenke-Mazanivka but failed and retreated.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy shelling was recorded near Spirne, Ivano-Darivka and Raihorodok. Russian troops launched air strikes near Spirne and Pryshyb.
Russian occupiers tried to advance in the directions of Ivano-Darivka, Vyimka and Vesele with offensive and assault actions. Enemy units suffered a complete failure and chaotically retreated to the previously captured positions.
In the Bakhmut direction, Russian troops attempted to create favorable conditions for the further attack on certain areas, using the available weapons to open fire on Kostiantynivka, Bakhmut, Vesela Dolyna, Vasiukivka, Bakhmutske, Soledar, Shumy, Pivnichne, Bilohorivka, Yakovlivka, Fedorivka, Zaitseve and Vershyna.
The enemy launched air strikes near Soledar and Yakovlivka. Russian invaders tried to conduct assault operations from Vuhlehirska TPP in the direction of Vershyna but suffered losses and retreated.
In the Avdiivka direction, the enemy shelling was recorded near Krasnohorivka, Pisky, Opytne, Vodiane and Marinka. Russian troops launched air strikes near New York, Vodiane and Novobakhmutivka.
The enemy unsuccessfully tried to improve their tactical position in the direction of Staromykhailivka and Nevelske.
In the Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzhia directions, Russian invaders used tanks, cannon artillery and multiple launch rocket systems to open fire on settlements along the contact line. The enemy launched air strikes near Novomykhailivka, Yelyzavetivka, Shcherbaky and Charivne.
Russian occupiers tried to advance in the direction of Slavne-Novomykhailivka, Solodke-Vodiane, Solodke-Volodymyrivka, Yehorivka-Pavlivka. They received a tough rebuff, suffered losses and rolled back.
In the Southern Bug direction, Russian troops used tanks and different artillery systems along the contact line and deep into the defense lines in order to prevent Ukrainian forces from regrouping and create favorable conditions for a counteroffensive.
The enemy launched air strikes near Andriivka, Myrne, Blahodatne and Lozove.
In the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov, Russia’s naval group is focusing efforts on conducting reconnaissance, blocking civilian shipping in the north-western part of the Black Sea and attacking military and infrastructure facilities within the territory of Ukraine.
Three enemy Kalibr cruise missile carriers are remaining combat ready.
