Russian forces shelled Donetsk region 27 times: Casualties reported

Russian forces launched 27 strikes on Donetsk region on August 8, killing and injuring civilians, including a child. A school, a humanitarian aid distribution point and civilian houses came under enemy fire.

The press service of the National Police of Ukraine wrote on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"The occupying army of the Russian Federation launched 27 attacks on civilian areas, including 13 strikes on Avdiivka. There are dead and wounded civilians. The enemy hit the cities of Avdiivka, Bakhmut, Kostiantynivka, Krasnohorivka, Soledar, Chasiv Yar, the villages of Ivanivka, Ivanivske, Karlivka, Novoselivka Persha, Staryi Komar, Pervomaiske, Pisky,” the report reads.

According to the National Police, Russian troops used aircraft, missiles, tanks, artillery, Grad MLRS, Uragan and Smerch systems against the civilian population. As a result, 58 civilian facilities were destroyed or damaged, including 53 residential buildings, a school, a car wash, etc.

The police and the Security Service of Ukraine opened criminal proceedings under Article 438 (violation of the laws and customs of war) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

As reported by Ukrinform, Russian invaders killed three and wounded 19 civilians in Donetsk region over the past day.
