Finland to send instructors to Britain to train Ukrainian military

Finland will send about 20 service personnel to the United Kingdom to train the Ukrainian military.

The relevant statement was posted on the website of Finland’s Ministry of Defense, Ukrinform reports.

“Finland will send approximately 20 service personnel to the United Kingdom to take part in a training programme for the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” the report reads.

It is noted that the training programme is led by the UK, which has asked partner nations for support.

It was earlier reported that the Swedish army would send up to 120 instructors to the United Kingdom to train the Ukrainian military.

In early July, the first group of Ukrainian soldiers arrived in the United Kingdom to take part in a new military training programme. The training course covers weapons handling, battlefield first aid, field craft, patrol tactics, and the laws around armed conflict.
