Over ten missiles strike Chernihiv region

More than ten missiles struck the Chernihiv region early on Thursday, July 28. The enemy also shelled border areas in the region.

Viacheslav Chaus, head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, said this in a Telegram post, Ukrinform reports.

"Today we all woke up very early, and this awakening was very alarming. Explosions were heard. To date, more than ten missiles have struck the Chernihiv region. Now I will not say where, for security reasons. Information about casualties and destruction is being clarified," Chaus said.

He also noted that many are interested in whether the second phase of the enemy's ground operation has begun. According to him, as of 07:12, the situation at the border is under control. Shelling of the border is the same as it has been for the past few months. The Ukrainian State Border Guard Service is monitoring the situation at the state border.

Chaus asked residents of the Chernihiv region, and especially the northern communities, not to neglect the ban on visiting forests.

"This is very important, because there is a risk to life and health. We are also preparing to meet the enemy if they decide to come to us for the second time. Therefore, please do not visit the forests," Chaus said.
