Two villages remain Ukrainian controlled in Luhansk Region

Two villages are remaining Ukrainian controlled in Luhansk Region.

The relevant statement was made by Luhansk Regional Military Administration Head Serhii Haidai on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“This is exactly what is driving Russians mad, as they were given an order to reach the administrative borders of Luhansk Region. They repeatedly reported on the completion of the task and, probably, received relevant awards, but they are still unable to cover the remaining several kilometers. One of villages had already been captured by the occupiers several times, but each time our military pushed the enemy back to the previous positions. However, the enemy does not stop: they return and suffer losses again,” Haidai wrote.

In his words, Russian troops launched two air strikes yesterday. Four Russian missiles hit the settlements.

In addition, the enemy opened massive artillery fire and launched four mortar strikes.

On July 16, 2022, Russian invaders attempted to advance towards Verkhniokamianka. They were met with firm resistance, suffered losses and retreated.

Russian troops also attempted to attack the defense redoubts of Ukrainian forces near Bilohorivka but had no success.
