Enemy fires missiles at Mykolaiv Region’s coast, ports and grain storages

In southern Ukraine, the Ukrainian rocket and artillery units have repulsed an enemy attack from the sea, destroying two Russian cruise missiles.

The relevant statement was made by the South Operational Command on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“The enemy continues to inflict fire damage and put psychological pressure on civilians and defenders in southern Ukraine. In particular, last night the enemy fired missiles at southern Ukraine from the sea. Two cruise missiles were shot down by our units over the sea when approaching Mykolaiv Region,” the report states.

In the morning of June 5, 2022, Russian invaders again launched massive missile strikes on Mykolaiv Region, using aviation. The enemy fired air-based cruise missiles from the Black Sea and the territory of Russia at Mykolaiv Region’s coast, ports and grain storage facilities.

“Such daring actions show the real intentions of the terrorist state. The pseudo care for humanitarian corridors and the unblocking of ports is just a reason to gain access to Ukraine’s maritime infrastructure,” the South Operational Command stressed.

A reminder that five Russian landing crafts and five warships carrying cruise missiles are staying in the Black Sea at the moment. The threat of missile strikes and landing operations is persisting.
