Russians opened fire on 21 settlements in JFO area over past day

Russian troops have opened fire on 21 settlements in Luhansk Region and Donetsk Region over the past day, killing four civilians.

The relevant statement was made by the Joint Forces Task Force on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“On May 31, 2022, Russian troops opened fire on 21 settlements in Luhansk Region and Donetsk Region. The following settlements came under enemy fire: Sievierodonetsk, Borivske, Lysychansk, Pryvillia, Novodruzhesk, Bilohorivka, Zolote, Hirske, Komyshuvakha, Toshkivka, Vrubivka, Ustynivka, Syrotyne, Avdiivka, Sloviansk, Yarova, Ocheretyne, Raihorodok, Semenivka,  Kamianka, Lastochkine,” the report states.

Four civilians were killed and at least 10 injured in Russia’s air, missile and artillery strikes on Sloviansk, Sievierodonetsk and Raihorodok.

Russian troops damaged and destroyed 46 civilian objects, including 40 apartment blocks and detached houses, art school (Hirske), nursery school (Yarova), household buildings at Proletarii Plant (Lysychansk), police department (Avdiivka).

In Sievierodonetsk, Russia’s air strike hit a nitric acid tank at Azot chemical enterprise, causing a leak.

The pyrotechnics experts of the Ukrainian State Emergency Service discovered and neutralized 43 explosive items in such districts of Donetsk Region as Bakhmut, Pokrovsk, Volnovakha and Kramatorsk.

Rescuers extinguished three fires caused by the enemy shelling in Sloviansk and Yarova, Kramatorsk District.

A total of 13,907 civilians have been evacuated from the areas of hostilities over the past day.
