Thirteen civilians killed in Russia’s shelling of Luhansk Region

Thirteen civilians have been killed in Russia’s shelling of Luhansk Region over the past day.

The relevant statement was made by Luhansk Regional Military Administration on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“The enemy is conducting the offensive operation near such settlements as Lysychansk and Sievierodonetsk. […] Over the past day, 12 civilians have been killed in Sievierodonetsk and one more in the Hirske community,” the report states.

According to the regional administration, Russia’s artillery strikes cause destruction and fires in residential houses. In particular, five houses were destroyed and burnt down in Nyrkove, six – in Zolote, three – in Vrubivka and three more – in Rubizhne.

It is now impossible to estimate the damage in Toshkivka, as battles are raging there. In Sievierodonetsk, at least five apartment blocks were destroyed. Twelve residential houses were damaged in Russia’s shelling of Lysychansk, 14 – in Novodruzhesk and 17 – in Pryvillia.

Meanwhile, Russian troops attempted to assault Sievierodonetsk but failed. The enemy suffered losses and retreated.

In general, 14 enemy attacks have been repulsed in Donetsk Region and Luhansk Region over the past day.
