State Emergency Service neutralized 125 explosive items on May 1

Demining units of the State Emergency Service have found and neutralized 125 explosive items on May 1.

The press service of the State Emergency Service reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

“Pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service were called out 51 times over the past day. As many as 125 explosive items were found, the area of 2 hectares was surveyed,” the report says.

Most of mine clearance operations were conducted in Kharkiv, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv and Sumy regions.

Overall, since the beginning of the large-scale military invasion into Ukraine, the Ukrainian State Emergency Service units neutralized  89,008 explosive items, 583.4 kg of explosive materials, including 1,961 aerial bombs. The area of 15,747 hectares was surveyed.

As reported, the UN named Ukraine one of the counties with the highest number of land mines.
