Defense Ministry doesn’t rule out Russian provocations along Ukrainian border

Russia has redeployed additional units of Russian Guard to the border area in Belarus and may carry out demonstration activities along the state border of Ukraine to restrain the actions of Ukrainian troops.

"Certain units of the Republic of Belarus continue to strengthen the Belarusian-Ukrainian border in Brest and Gomel regions. There is still a threat of missile and air strikes on the Ukrainian objects from the territory of Belarus. In order to strengthen the administrative and police regime, additional units of Russian Guard were deployed to the border area in Belarus – Bryansk region. The protection of the border with special technical means of surveillance is being strengthened and the engineering equipment of the positions in the area of checkpoints is being improved.

In the future, demonstration activities along the state border of Ukraine in order to restrain our troops are not ruled out," Ukraine’s Defense Ministry Spokesperson Oleksandr Motuzianyk said at a briefing, informing about the situation in Volyn, Polissia, and Siversky directions.

On February 24, Russia launched a new stage of the war against Ukraine – a full-scale invasion. Russian troops fire and bomb Ukrainian cities, towns, and villages, torture and kill civilians. Ukrainian defense forces resist Russian troops and inflict heavy losses on them. As of April 27, 22,400 invaders were eliminated.
