Russian troops attempt to gain control over railway near Izium and Barvinkove – Defense Ministry

Russian invaders are conducting offensive operations within the East operational zone to reach the administrative borders of Donetsk Region and Luhansk Region.

The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Defense Ministry Spokesman Oleksandr Motuzianyk at a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“The enemy is conducting offensive operations within the East operational zone. The key objective is to gain full control over Donetsk Region and Luhansk Region, and establish a land corridor to the temporarily occupied Crimea,” Motuzianyk told.

In his words, Russian troops are most active in the direction of Izium-Barvinkove, near the Popasna junction station, near the Sievierodonetsk urbanized district, near Mariupol and within the Zaporizhzhia-Donetsk road section.

In the Southern Bug direction, Russian invaders are trying to gain a foothold within the administrative borders of Kherson Region. For this purpose, the enemy continues to expand its ranks with fresh units, increase missile, ammunition and fuel stocks.

Russian troops are conducting assault operations near Pravdyne and Tavriisk, and launching artillery strikes on Shevchenkove and Termovi Pody.

In the Slobozhanskyi direction, the enemy continues to partially blockade the city of Kharkiv, actively launching artillery and air strikes. Near Balakliia and Lozova, Russian troops are gaining a foothold and building up field defenses. Near Izium and Barvinkove, enemy units are conducting offensive operations to gain control over railway connection.

In the direction of Sievierodonetsk, Russian invaders are conducting assault operations near Zarichne and attempting to advance towards Rubizhne.
