Haidai refutes Russia’s fake report on seizing Rubizhne

Russia’s Defense Ministry has produced another fake report on the seizure of Rubizhne by Russian troops, while this city is remaining Ukrainian controlled.

The relevant statement was made by Luhansk Regional Military Administration Head Serhii Haidai on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“For the third time since the war started, Russia’s Defense Ministry has again reported on the ‘liberation’ of Rubizhne. It is another fake statement,” Haidai wrote.

According to Haidai, on the 56th day of the war, Russian invaders attempted to gain a foothold in the western and north-western parts of Rubizhne but failed.

“This is the third time the occupiers ‘liberated’ Rubizhne based on Russia’s fake reports. For the first time, Russian invaders ‘gained control’ over this city on March 1, 2022. Then, on March 18, 2022, the Russian propaganda again declared the ‘liberation’ of Rubizhne and even ‘clearing’ it from the Armed Forces of Ukraine. But, on March 20, 2022, we denied this information,” Haidai explained.

In his words, on April 20, 2022, foreign journalists visited the southern part of Rubizhne and became convinced the Russian side spread lies.

“The ‘fake news’ country will not stop. Hence, in the near future, the Russian propaganda may once again report on the victorious ‘liberation’ of Rubizhne,” Haidai added.

A reminder that Russian troops are continuously shelling Luhansk Region with different weapons, namely Tornado and Grad multiple rocket launcher systems, as well as launching air strikes. Many residential houses, infrastructure facilities and educational institutions were destroyed. All hospitals in Luhansk Region were damaged.
