Escalation of hostilities in eastern Ukraine to affect talks with Russia – Podoliak

The escalation of hostilities in eastern Ukraine may affect the negotiation process between Ukraine and the Russian Federation.

The relevant statement was made by Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Mykhailo Podoliak during a telethon, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Today everything that is happening in Ukraine is absolutely strategically moderated by the President. We understand that there will be attempts to attack in eastern Ukraine, which will also affect the negotiation process as well,” Podoliak told.

In his words, Ukraine is ready for any scenario of events.

“Even if we have to fight as powerfully as they provoke there or produce an idea about a global war in eastern Ukraine for Donbas. Ukraine is ready for any scenario,” Podoliak stressed.

A reminder that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has warned Russia that eliminating Mariupol defenders would put an end to peace talks.
